Privacy Policy

How Cristal Cleaning Services collects, uses and shares personal information when people post cleaning requests, operate provider profiles, buy credits or use the marketplace.

1. Who we are

Cristal Cleaning Services operates the Cristal Cleaning Services marketplace. The platform helps customers describe cleaning work and helps independent cleaners and cleaning businesses discover and respond to suitable opportunities.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Cristal, we may collect:

  • Account information: name, email address, telephone number, language, role and account/security information.
  • Provider information: profile/company image, business name, biography, website, service areas, services, starting prices, work photographs, availability, reviews and verification information.
  • Cleaning request information: service, postcode area, property details, preferred date/time, budget, job description, extras, photographs and contact preferences.
  • Contact information: customer phone/email and whether the supplied phone number is available on WhatsApp.
  • Marketplace activity: lead unlocks, quotes, accepted work, reviews, credits, Plus status and account notification choices.
  • Payment records: transaction identifiers, amounts, currency, status and processor references. Card details are processed by our payment provider rather than stored as full card numbers by Cristal.
  • Technical/security data: IP address, request logs, timestamps, browser/device information and other data reasonably required to protect accounts and prevent abuse.

3. How and why we use information

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object in circumstances provided by data protection law.

4. Important: how customer contact details are shared

Customer phone and email are not displayed publicly on an open job page.

They may be revealed to eligible cleaning providers who spend credits to unlock that specific lead, up to the response limit shown on the request. If a customer tells us the number is on WhatsApp, that status may also be shown to an unlocking provider.

Providers may use unlocked contact information only to respond to and manage the relevant cleaning opportunity. They must not resell, scrape, publish or use those details for unrelated unsolicited marketing.

5. Who we share information with

We may share information with:

  • Marketplace users where needed for the service—for example, provider profile information is public and customer contact details can be unlocked as described above.
  • Payment providers such as Stripe to process credit packs, subscriptions and payment verification.
  • Email/hosting/infrastructure providers such as Hostinger and other vendors that help us operate the service.
  • Professional advisers, regulators, courts or authorities where reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or resolve disputes.

If a provider processes information outside the UK, we will use an applicable lawful transfer mechanism where required.

6. Email, alerts and marketing

Users can control optional email categories in Settings. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link that does not require logging in. Essential account, security, billing and transactional messages may still be sent when necessary to operate the service.

We do not treat a hidden privacy-policy clause as consent to electronic marketing. Where consent is required, it should be obtained through a clear positive choice.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies or local storage that are necessary for sessions, security, language, interface preferences and similar product functionality. If we introduce non-essential analytics or advertising technologies that require consent, we will provide the appropriate choice before using them.

8. How long we keep information

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including account operation, marketplace history, fraud prevention, legal claims and statutory accounting/tax requirements. Retention periods vary by record type. We may retain limited suppression or security records after deletion where necessary to respect an opt-out, prevent repeat abuse or comply with law.

9. Security

We use access controls, password hashing, provider identity protections, audit/transaction records and operational safeguards designed to reduce unauthorised access. No internet service can promise absolute security, so users should also protect their passwords and devices.

10. Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase or restrict personal data, object to certain processing, request portability, and withdraw consent. You may also have rights relating to certain automated decisions.

11. Children

Cristal is intended for adults who can enter into marketplace arrangements. Users must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

12. Contact and complaints

Contact us first at cristal@cristalcleaningservices.co.uk so we can try to resolve the issue. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) about how your personal information is handled.

We may update this notice when the product, suppliers or legal requirements change. Material changes will be brought to users’ attention where appropriate.
